The Emperor of Lies by Steve Sem-Sandberg – review
The Nazis established the Lodz ghetto in December 1939 as a temporary camp for the approximately 200,000 Jews in this city, they renamed Litzmannstadt and sealed up in May 1940. The Lodz ghetto was unique. His story is well known, as administered by the Jews themselves under the control of the monstrous Jewish oldest Mordecai Chaim Rumkowski, it has become a major source of supply for the German war machine. The ghetto has a net profit of 10m mark of the Nazi state in 1942. Because of its productivity, it survived all the other in Poland.
Rumkowski was an obsession, a pedophile who abuse women also appreciated, and an egocentric who, once appointed by the Nazis, decided to create a forced labor camp in which his rule was law. The death camps of Nazi extermination machine were more ably complemented by the Ministry of Albert Speer war production, which improves a system by which the conquered peoples, or of inferior quality were fed into the furnace of death by labor and starvation.

In prisons, the torture was inflicted on the Jews who evaded all its laws, or failed to execute his orders, the head of what was the command to work. Work, Rumkowski believed, was "the future shape of livelihood for the Jews of Europe".Its factories and workshops all products of the German army may require, boots and bras uniforms and supplies. Workers were paid in food. Those at the top of the pyramid of Rumkowski successful, the rest were rewarded by slow starvation. So, as Steve Sem-Sandberg puts it: "Betrayal has begun using its long shadows in the ghetto, the Jews against the Jew.
