Hunt For Mushrooms With Wildman Steve Brill
Litchfield, CT - At 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24 America's go-to guy for food, "Wildman" Steve Brill will lead one of his famous supply circuits of the White Memorial Centre conservation in Litchfield, CT.
This sprawling area is loaded with a variety of habitats filled with wild plants, an ideal place for mid-spring foraging. After a brief introduction, we will dig up some huge burdock roots growing near the museum. These nutritious roots a staple in East Asian cuisine, taste a combination of potatoes and artichokes. Dig this massive pivot using a shovel.Look for it growing on soft ground without rocks. Collect after the rain has softened the ground.
